Please Leave a Message . . .

J:  Lately our dad has been very hard to reach. Even when standing right in front of him and addressing him directly, it seems as if he is having a very hard time understanding what is being said to him.  We were all out for Sunday dinner last night and the grandsons were trying to engage him in a conversation and he was not tracking AT ALL.  My son finally said "please leave a message, no one is home".  And honestly, that's the truth.  He seems to be retreating further and further from reality as his AD progresses.  Even the tried and true subjects like business with his son, church and Dortmunder don't elicit the expected response anymore.  The weather has been gray and cloudy the past few days.  I'm hoping this won't be his new normal this coming winter.

In the meantime, leave a message at the BEEEEPPPPP . . .
