J: June 20 is the Summer Solstice, the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. The Alzheimer's Association is encouraging everyone touched by AD to do something that day to raise money for research for the disease. They chose this day because everyday in the life of an AD patient and their caregivers seems to be the L O N G E S T day.
So, E and I are teaming up to offer a Bootcamp class at the Rocky River High School track on June 20. The class will run from 6 a.m. till 8:30 a.m. We are hoping that people will come for as long as they are able. No one is expected to exercise the entire time! We are asking for a minimum donation of $20, and all money raised will be donated directly to the Alzheimer's Association.
You don't need to be in great shape to join us, and you don't need any special equipment. If you have exercised with us before, bring your equipment. If not, we will have extra. Bring a mat or a towel and some water.
Please spread the word. If you can't join us but want to donate, please do so at www.alz.org/donate If you have an idea for a fundraiser, why not give it a try on June 20. Every bit of money donated brings us closer to a cure!
See you on June 20!
