Glasses are a necessary evil in the lives of our parents. They have both worn them for years, but recently they have become a source of frustration for everyone involved in the Parkway project. Our mom routinely misplaces hers. She always claims to know exactly where she put them, but in reality she has no idea. So then we begin an exercise similar to the game of Clue. I begin with "I was with her in the bedroom at 6 and she had them on then." And then E will continue with "then I saw her in the bathroom at 6:30 and they were gone". So we have pinpointed the approximate time they disappeared and the location where they were deposited. Likely spots for hiding are the bed covers and the sock drawer. To date we have always managed to recover them. She is never surprised when we find them, as she always knew they were right there.
Our dad's issue is that the &^%$ glasses will not stay in the appropriate spot on his nose. So consequently when we look at him we can only see half of his eyes, as the glasses rest half way down his nose. It's a very disconcerting look because it makes him look more confused than he is. No amount of adjusting seems to help. So I took him to find a new pair yesterday. He was quite animated trying on different pairs and "testing them out" by jumping from foot to foot like he was performing a football drill. We found a pair that we think will work. Hopefully soon his glasses will be more than half full. . .
