No foolin

E-These tales can not be made up.....In early December our Dad had a stroke which affected his left leg and left hand. As I rode in the ambulance with him to the hospital I attempted to look ahead and determine how he would survive without his 32 walks per day if he was immobile.....

Once the CT scan determined that his brain was not bleeding I informed my siblings who were present in the ER that we would be returning home via ambulance because we have the help we need and a handicap accessible house so we don't need to hospitalize him and further confuse his already off the hook cognition. We ordered up a hospital's worth of supplies for their suite (bed, shower chair, walker, wheelchair and potty chair) and headed home.

Here's where things took a turn...a sharp turn. Trying to explain to our Dad that he could not try to stand was next to impossible. J and I took turns with 459 different approaches to explaining the circumstances to him and each time we ended our lecture series he would attempt to stand again. It was at one of these moments that our Mom emerged from the bathroom dressed in nothing but sneakers. J and I were the only 2 phased by this babe in her birthday suit and again we began lecturing her on dress code. She too was dismissive of our requests to dress appropriately for the winter temps and began making her bed.

Truth is strange than fiction.....
